The King is the master of his subjects. Because the King protects his subjects. Similarly, is not husband the master of wife? Certainly, customarily a husband is called ''swami" by traditional Indian women. For the sub-ordinate the superior is the master. Then, who is the master of a sannyasi? The answer is clear as daylight. The householder who protects the sannyasi by providing him with food, clothing (and money even when that is unnecessary) himself is the Master of sannyasi. And hence, like a subject to a King or rather a servant to his master, a sannyasi, who is "ADHAMASRAMI", should respect and prostrate before the householder, who is "UTHAMASRAMI"
